The academy participants met for the first time in the conservatory courtyard
The 9th annual Kroměříž Summer Music Academy officially opened yesterday in the courtyard of the PJ Vejvanovský Conservatory in Kroměříž. The participants, the teaching staff and the organizational team were welcomed by the co-founder and artistic director of the academy, conductor Tomáš Netopil.
This year, talented young musicians from all over the world came to Kroměříž again. The interest in participating exceeded the academy's capacity, confirming its prestigious position among educational projects in the field of classical music.
"We are very pleased with the great interest, which once again exceeded our expectations and possibilities. That is why I am glad that you were the ones who brought us here, and that we have the opportunity to enjoy a week full of music together, but I believe that it will also be full of inspiring meetings and pleasant experiences," Tomáš Netopil welcomed the students during the introductory meeting.
During the coming week, students will be given intensive instruction under the guidance of renowned artists and teachers. The cello department will be led by Michaela Fukačová , singing will be taught by Kateřina Kněžíková with the piano collaboration of Zdeněk Klaudy , and violin will be taught by Dalibor Karvay and Fedor Rudin . Piano will be taught by Ivo Kahánek , viola by Pavel Nikl , and music management will be taught jointly by Irena Pohl Houkalová and Jana Kubáčová.
A team of experienced accompanists consisting of Mária Vaitová , Martina Mergentalová , Barbora Varmužová , Michal Pospíšil and Monika Vavříková Bažantová will provide essential support for the young performers.
The facilities for this year's event were again provided by the local elementary art school and conservatory, for which the academy management expressed its gratitude to Ivona and Václav Křivánková . The entire demanding course of the event is overseen by the implementation team led by the executive director and co-founder of the academy, Jana Kubáčová , and Michal Kubáč.
After the official welcome, the students took the opportunity to visit the Archbishop's Castle in Kroměříž for a guided tour. The evening program then returned to the conservatory courtyard, where they spent a pleasant summer evening together in a relaxed atmosphere.
Students have a week full of master classes, lectures, and concerts for the public ahead of them, which will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Archbishop's Castle in Kroměříž and the Nadsklepí cinema.
