One of the most prominent contemporary Czech singers – soprano Kateřina Kněžíková is a laureate of many competitions and shows. In 2018, she was awarded at the Classic Prague Awards together with Kateřina Englichová, and she received the Thalia Award in 2019.
She is a permanent member of the ensemble of the National Theatre in Prague. She has guested at Theatre de Caen, Opéra Royal de Versailles, Theatre Royal de La Monnaie in Brussels and Opéra de Dijon. As part of her professional concert and opera work, she has collaborated with conductors such as S. Baudo, J. Bělohlávek, O. Caetani, P. Domingo, T. Netopil and with major musical ensembles such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Collegium 1704, the Czech Philharmonic and many others.
In addition to performing opera and symphonic works, she also devotes herself to chamber and song recitals.
She regularly performs at prestigious international festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad. She recorded Smetana’s The Bartered Bride for the label Harmonia mundi, and her recording Dove é amore é gelosia in the production of OPUS ARTE DVD won the German critics’ award “Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik”.
