Wednesday Music Festival Kroměříž belongs to soprano Kateřina Kněžíková

She will be invited to a discussion by conductor and founder of the Summer Music Academy Tomáš Netopil. Kateřina Kněžíková will then perform with her students at the concert Rising Stars of the Opera Sky.Kateřina Kněžíková is one of the most outstanding Czech opera singers of our time. She is a laureate of numerous competitions and shows. In 2018, she was awarded the Classic Prague Awards for the best chamber performance of 2017 and was shortlisted for the Thalia Award. She then received the Thalia Award for outstanding stage performance in 2019. She collaborates with a number of orchestras and conductors, and regularly performs at international festivals in our country and abroad. This spring, she became one of the stars of the very prestigious Glyndebourne Opera Festival.
She has been working with the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy (LHAK) since its first year. As a lecturer, she leads a singing course there, which is very popular every year and always exceeds the course capacity. " It is difficult for me to choose students. If it were possible, I would like to teach everyone ," admits Kateřina Kněžíková.
The audience can see how this year's academy students are doing at a concert, which is a novelty of the fourth year of LHAK. They can expect a joint concert, Rising Stars of the Opera Sky, which will take place on Wednesday, August 18 at 19 p.m. in the auditorium of the Secondary Pedagogical School in Kroměříž.
Before that, it will be possible to meet Kateřina Kněžíková at a discussion. Tomáš Netopil, founder and artistic director of LHAK, will ask this exceptional soprano about her life, work, experiences and other topics. There will also be a talk about her recently released solo album Phidylé, recorded with the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, which the artist will sign for those interested on the spot. The discussion starts at 17 pm also in the auditorium of the Kroměříž Pedagogical School.
