The top Czech and foreign classical musicians are heading to Kroměříž. The Summer Music Academy starts in a week
The sixth year of the music academy for young talents will begin in Kroměříž on Thursday, August 17. It will welcome about sixty students from six countries around the world, who will improve their skills in ten different fields. The public can then look forward to a packed program of the Kroměříž Music Festival, which will feature Baroque music, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvořák and a composition by Jiří Pavlice.
The musical project of Tomáš Netopil, a native of Kroměříž, which has gained recognition and prestige worldwide, is opening for the sixth time this year. The international academy is intended for young musicians who want to learn from the best in their fields . This year, around sixty of them will arrive and, in addition to Tomáš Netopil, other aces of the international music scene will share their experience and valuable advice with them, such as violinist Fedor Rudin, harpsichordist Barbara Maria Willi, cellist Michaela Fukačová, piano virtuoso Ivo Kahánek, violinists Jan Mráček and Dalibor Karvay, violist Pavel Nikl or Zdeněk Klauda during the teaching of accompanists.
In addition to playing musical instruments, singing, studies for music managers under the guidance of David Mareček, chamber music and orchestral music are also taught. " The singing teacher is the leading Czech opera singer, baritone Adam Plachetka, who will replace Kateřina Kněžíková this year," pointed out Jana Kubáčová.
Although the International Summer Music Academy is a relatively young project, it is already possible to meet its successful graduates at home and abroad. "Many of them are truly heading towards the musical elite of the next emerging musical generation ," said the academy's artistic director Tomáš Netopil. "Helping talents find their way and fully utilize their potential is the main purpose of the academy. We can look back today and be happy that our work has meaning," he added.
Classical music lovers from the general public will also find something to do, as interesting concerts have been prepared for them. Two of them will take place in the attractive premises of the Archbishop's Palace, namely Barocco frizzante, where the baroque orchestra Collegium Colloredo & guests will perform on August 17, and on August 20, the festive symphonic concert Svečení domu (Consecration of the House), consisting of compositions by WA Mozart, L. van Beethoven and PI Tchaikovsky.
" For a change from the Art Nouveau backdrop, the hall in the Kroměříž Psychiatric Hospital will offer listeners a concert, where virtuoso artists Jiří Vodička and David Mareček will present the work of the Czech musical genius, " added Jana Kubáčová, reminding that visitors can listen to Antonín Dvořák's The Return concert here on August 19.
Students of the Summer Music Academy will also showcase their art in the series of Future Masters and Opera Gala concerts, which will take place in the Nadsklepí cinema. The highlight of the entire year will be the final concert of Future Masters III. & Academic Chamber Orchestra on August 24th with the announcement of this year's academy laureates. The ensemble, which will be created by students of the LHAK string departments and some lecturers, will be led by the conductor and artistic director of the LHAK, Tomáš Netopil. "This year, we want to pay tribute to the approaching anniversary of our close colleague and friend. Therefore, we will present the work of this violinist and composer, Jiří Pavlica, who will accompany the musicians with his commentary," outlined Tomáš Netopil.

About the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy
Conductor Tomáš Netopil graduated from a primary art school and a conservatory in Kroměříž. He initiated the first year of the Kroměříž International Summer Music Academy in 2018. He invited top classical music performers to cooperate, who, as lecturers, pass on their experience to promising young musicians. The academy is intended for students of conservatories, universities and young artists.
In addition to exceptional artistic leadership, the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy offers students the opportunity to meet and share experiences with each other and with other guests, public concerts, and for laureates, performances with the philharmonic orchestra.
