The Academy Kroměříž gala concert connected the championship with young talents
The Academy Kroměříž gala concert on Sunday evening connected the experience of one of the most important domestic ensembles, the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc , with the energy and virtuosity of the emerging generation of musicians under the leadership of the internationally renowned conductor and artistic director of the academy, Tomáš Netopil.
The evening offered a varied program consisting of iconic works of Czech and world classics. The first half of the concert featured Suk's Serenade in E flat major, op. 6 , whose lyrical atmosphere was alternated with a bravura interpretation.
Concerto for Cello and Orchestra No. 2 in D major by Joseph Haydn performed by the talented cellist David Pěruška . This graduate of the Juilliard School and holder of the Special Prize of the Academy Kroměříž 2025 confirmed his reputation as one of the most outstanding young performers of his generation. The second half of the evening was concluded in a captivating manner by Pablo de Sarasate's Gypsy Melodies, Op. 20, arranged by Miroslav Kolaci.
The only thirteen-year-old violinist Filip Fehér excelled as a soloist . One of the youngest laureates of the academy and winner of numerous international competitions, he received a standing ovation from the entire Chamber Hall for his captivating performance.
The gala concert once again confirmed the key mission of the Academy Kroměříž, which is to create a unique space for the absolute top of the field to meet with promising young artists at the very beginning of their professional careers.
The Castle Chamber Hall thus experienced an evening full of top-notch art, tradition, and inspiring youth.
