This year's academy is preparing a number of new features
For the 5th year in a row, music students, top lecturers, partners and supporters of this project, organizers and all classical music lovers will gather in Kroměříž in mid-August. This year's Summer Music Academy will be completely unique.
In addition to a rich program for the public full of concerts, discussions and lectures, it will once again bring many opportunities for students to improve their field, meet new friends and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of summer Kroměříž.
However, the anniversary year will also bring a number of new features. For example, for the first time, we will be taking a thematic look at the field of folklore. Tomáš Netopil's guest at one of the discussions will be musician and folklorist Jiří Pavlica.
An absolutely exceptional musical and dramatic experience awaits visitors and guests of the final concert entitled The Return of Amadeus. Mozart's melodies will be highlighted for the first time within the framework of the Music Kroměříž Festival by an extraordinary scenography set in the magical environment of the Flower Garden and by a star-studded cast of lecturers. For the first time within the academy, Kateřina Kněžíková and Adam Plachetka will also perform together, as well as soloists Michaela Fukačová (cello), Fedor Rudin (violin) and Pavel Nikl (viola), accompanied by the PKF – Prague Philharmonia under the direction of conductor Tomáš Netopil.
Another novelty and variety for students will be the opportunity on August 15th and 16th to appreciate (and, most importantly, taste) the culinary art of chef Tomáš Reger from the Brno Element restaurant, who, like the academy's lecturers, has gained experience all over the world. And, like Tomáš Netopil, he comes from Kroměříž.
Every year, students also have the opportunity to gain useful information and skills important for their musical career. In previous years, they have learned, for example, how to cope with stage fright or how to communicate with the media. This year, they will have the opportunity to discuss with a medical expert. During a lecture by MUDr. Jitka Vydrová, they can find the answer to the question of what a singer should know about their vocal instrument.
