The Summer Music Academy in Kroměříž kicked off with a baroque concert. It will bring other extraordinary musical experiences this weekend

The International Music Academy for Conservatory Students began its classes today. Young musicians and world-renowned classical music figures arrived in Kroměříž. The weekend will offer two chamber concerts, one dedicated to Dvořák, and a gala symphony concert with the laureates of last year's academy led by two conductors.

The Art Nouveau Hall of the Kroměříž Psychiatric Hospital will host the chamber concert The Return of Antonín Dvořák on Saturday, August 19. A selection of chamber pieces by one of the most important Czech composers will be performed by the concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic, violinist Jiří Vodička, and the general director of the Czech Philharmonic, pianist David Mareček.

The highlight of this year's Kroměříž Music Festival is the festive symphonic concert, The Consecration of the House. It will take place on Sunday, August 20, in the magnificent space of the Chamber Hall of the Archbishop's Castle in Kroměříž.

"Together with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic in Zlín, three laureates of previous years of the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy will perform here - violinist Matej Pčolinský, singer Adriana Banásová and cellist Nikita Ruzhavinskiy ," invited the conductor and artistic director of the academy Tomáš Netopil. He will unconventionally take turns leading the musicians at the concert with the conductor and top violinist Fedor Rudin. "The program includes compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Ludwig van Beethoven, " added Tomáš Netopil.
