Music Kroměříž continues with student concerts and discussions about music and its future
[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_single_image image=”6467″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]On Monday, August 16th and Tuesday, August 17th, students of the Summer Music Academy will present themselves to the Kroměříž public at two concerts entitled Future Masters. The program also includes a discussion about Leoš Janáček and an expert forum on the future of culture with the participation of former Minister of Culture Ilja Šmíd, psychiatrist and educator Cyril Höschl, conductor and founder of the academy Tomáš Netopil, and other music experts.The joint projects of the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy (LHAK) and the Kroměříž Music Festival offer another rich program available to the public. Students who attend the academy this year will play in joint performances for the first time. The Future Masters I. concert will take place on Monday, August 16th at 19 p.m. in the auditorium of the pedagogical school, the Future Masters II. concert will take place at the same location a day later, on Tuesday, August 17th at 19 p.m.
The auditorium will also host two discussions dedicated to music at the beginning of the week. On Monday, August 16 at 17 p.m., musicologist and Leoš Janáček expert, doc. Jiří Zahrádka, will address the question "What was the real Janáček like?"
A new feature of this year's program is the professional Cultural Forum, which will take place on Tuesday, August 17 at 15 p.m. The topic of the debate will be the future of culture, its importance for human development and its current direction. The invitation to the discussion was accepted by former Minister of Culture, musicologist and educator Ilja Šmíd, musicians - lecturers of the LHAK Barbara Maria Willi, general director of the Czech Philharmonic David Mareček, Ivo Kahánek and Tomáš Netopil, psychiatrist and educator Cyril Höschl and director of the Janáček Philharmonic in Ostrava Jan Žemla.
