The 4th year of the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy was dignified by a number of personalities who wished the lecturers, students and organizers a peaceful course, a boost of new experiences and personal ties, and pleasant concert experiences for the visitors.

The first concert of this year was not missed by important guests: the Governor of the Zlín Region, Ing. Radim Holiš, the Archbishop of Olomouc and Metropolitan of Moravia, Mons. Jan Graubner, Daniela Hebnarová for the city of Kroměříž, the Kroměříž native and current Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Radek Vondráček, and the violinist from Hradišťan, Jiří Pavlica, also appeared in the audience.

The entire evening was accompanied by the general director of the Czech Philharmonic, David Mareček. Conductor Tomáš Netopil conducted the top violinist Jiří Vodička, as well as a very talented representative of the upcoming generation of young artists, last year's LHAK laureate - holder of the Academy of Classical Music Award, violinist Roman Červinka. The soloists were accompanied by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic in Zlín.

The program offered compositions by Johannes Brahms, Niccolò Paganini, Pablo de Sarasate, followed after the break by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky.

The Music of Kroměříž program will offer the public a meeting with musical personalities such as conductor Tomáš Netopil, violinist Jiří Vodička, harpsichordist Barbara Maria Willi or soprano Kateřina Kněžíková. The ceremonial opening concert and the chamber baroque concert Moravian Kiss of Saxony will take place in the exceptional setting of the Flower Garden.

The Kroměříž Music Festival is an accompanying program of the international Kroměříž Summer Music Academy (LHAK). This year, for the fourth time, it is an opportunity for young musical talents to gain new knowledge and experience from top performers in the fields of classical music. They will then present themselves not only as academy lecturers, but will also demonstrate their art at public performances. " I believe that we will offer viewers and listeners unique experiences and a great atmosphere ," says the project's executive director, Jana Kubáčová.

The entire festival and the academy will be opened by the Opening Ceremony Concert in the Květná zahrady greenhouse. On Friday, August 13th, at 19 p.m., violinist Jiří Vodička, last year's LHAK laureate Roman Červinka, and the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra Zlín, conducted by Tomáš Netopil, will perform. The international educational project Summer Music Academy for young talented musicians and its accompanying festival Music Kroměříž with a program for the public are starting. The opening concert will take place on Friday, August 13th in the greenhouse of the Flower Garden with the participation of conductor Tomáš Netopil, violinist Jiří Vodička and the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra Zlín.

The Kroměříž Summer Music Academy (LHAK) is now in its fourth year. Selected participants can take lessons where they can gain knowledge and experience from top musicians and performers. The academy was initiated by the renowned conductor and founder of LHAK, a native of Kroměříž, Tomáš Netopil.

" 250 students have already passed through the academy during the event. This year too, we could not accept all applicants due to capacity reasons. Quality comes first. I can confirm that having lessons with lecturers such as Michaela Fukačová or Kateřina Kněžíková is a truly extraordinary experience, " said executive director Jana Kubáčová. The entire project attracts great personalities of classical music - violinist Jiří Vodička, harpsichordist Barbara Maria Willi, pianist Ivo Kahánek, or founding member of the Pavel Haas quartet, violist Pavel Nikl and others will also be presenting.

At the last minute, the organizers had to look for a replacement for violin teacher Jan Mráček. " We are very sorry, but due to a sudden health condition, Jan Mráček will be replaced in the lessons by the charismatic young Russian-French violinist, top soloist and conductor, former concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Fedor Rudin," explained LHAK artistic director Tomáš Netopil.

This year, sixty active participants have again registered for the Summer Music Academy courses. Its graduates regularly win international competitions. "We are pleased that our students are making a name for themselves not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Europe. Some play in renowned musical ensembles and have their own concerts. The successes of our graduates prove that our work has meaning and we are very curious to see what talents we will discover among this year's graduates, " said Jana Kubáčová.

The International Summer Music Academy Kroměříž will bring a program for the general public under the name Musical Kroměříž. This classical music festival will offer orchestral and chamber concerts, discussions and a cultural forum. Many musical personalities and lecturers of the academy, such as Kateřina Kněžíková, Jiří Vodička, Barbara Maria Willi or Tomáš Netopil, will perform at the concerts and discussions. 

Meeting with music and top Czech performers. This is Hudební Kroměříž, one of the three pillars on which the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy (LHAK) stands. " Our goal is to bring education to the city in the form of an academy, combining theory and practice in the form of a festival for the public and a professional forum , offering a view of culture in the Czech Republic and its future," says executive director Jana Kubáčová, who introduces the aforementioned pillar.

The Kroměříž Music Festival has seven concerts and four discussions. The opening concert in the Květná zahrady greenhouse on August 13 will feature solo performances by violinist Jiří Vodička, last year's LHAK laureate Roman Červinka, and the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra Zlín conducted by Tomáš Netopil. The program will feature compositions by Johannes Brahms, Niccolò Paganini, Pablo de Saratose, and Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky.

Two days later, on August 15, the chamber baroque concert "Moravian Kiss of Saxony" will take place in the rotunda of the Flower Garden, dramaturgically prepared by Barbara Maria Willi. Not only this top harpsichordist will perform, but also her student, another LHAK laureate, winner of the Zlín Region Prize. Our top Czech soprano Kateřina Kněžíková will present her successful student and winner of the LHAK special prize, mezzo-soprano Bella Adamová. The orchestra will also feature violist Pavel Nil and violinist Václav Křivánek. The program includes Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer and Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber.

A new feature is the presentation of this baroque chamber concert in Zlín, in the courtyard of the Zlín Castle, on Tuesday, August 17th.

Other concerts in Kroměříž will feature LHAK students, lecturers Michaela Fukačová, Ivo Kahánek, Jan Mráček, Jiří Vodička, Pavel Nikl, Petr Ries, Zdeněk Klauda and the Kateřina Kněžíková singing academy. The entire program will be concluded on August 19 with the LHAK Final Concert, again in the Květná zahrady greenhouse, where the student chamber orchestra under the direction of conductor Tomáš Netopil will perform. This concert will be held in cooperation with the Academy of Classical Music. LHAK laureate Adam Klánský will perform at it and the audience will hear a composition by Lukáš Sommer in the world premiere.

The discussions will be hosted by the auditorium of the Kroměříž Secondary Pedagogical School. The first will focus on the topic of What was the real Janáček (August 16), the second will focus on the future of culture (August 17). The topic of this expert debate will be the importance of culture for human development, the direction of culture at the present time, its connection with the social sphere and education, and comparison on an international scale. Guests from the Czech Republic and abroad will participate, such as the former Minister of Culture, musicologist and educator Ilja Šmíd, the general director of the Czech Philharmonic David Mareček, the well-known psychiatrist Cyril Höschl, pianist Ivo Kahánek, conductor Tomáš Netopil, and the director of the Ostrava Philharmonic Jan Žemla, LHAK lecturers, and others.

The third discussion will be led by Tomáš Netopil and his guest will be singing star Kateřina Kněžíková (August 18).

A unique opportunity to meet and learn from top classical music performers. That is the Summer Music Academy in Kroměříž (LHAK). Young musicians interested in this experience can now apply for this year's academy - applications can be submitted online until mid-May.

" Our lecturers are ready to pass on to young musicians their experience with the game itself, but also practical knowledge from performing on world stages or working in important music institutions. Three of the lecturers also work abroad ," said Tomáš Netopil, founder and artistic director of the academy. The academy's teaching for solo players will take place in the fields of violin, cello, viola, harpsichord, double bass, piano, singing, accompaniment and studies for music managers, LHAK is also opening a chamber music program under the direction of Pavel Nikl, and students of string instrument fields will be members of a student orchestra under the direction of conductor Tomáš Netopil.

In addition to Tomáš Netopil, the lecturers for LHAK 2021 will be Kateřina Kněžíková (vocals), Ivo Kahánek (piano), Michaela Fukačová (cello), Pavel Nikl (viola, chamber music), Jan Mráček (violin), Jiří Vodička (violin), Barbara Maria Willi (harpsichord), David Mareček (music management), Zdeněk Klauda (piano collaboration) and Petr Ries (double bass).

Solo courses will be taught from August 12 to 20. The string orchestra will also work in parallel, which will then continue with a training camp in Prague on September 12 and 13. The orchestral academy will take place in cooperation with the Academy of Classical Music, the organizer of the Dvořák Prague festival.

This year, 76 participants completed the successful project of conductor Tomáš Netopil under the guidance of renowned musicians. The academy also offered an accompanying program for the general public.

During the graduation ceremony, hosted by the artistic director of the academy and native of Kroměříž Tomáš Netopil, exceptionally talented students of this year presented themselves. Upon arrival in the foyer, the audience was already in the mood for pleasant melodies from the harpsichordists. The concert was then performed by selected graduates of the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy: Bella Adamová – vocals, Lucie Adoltová – viola, Tamara Morozová – vocals, Adam Klánský – cello, Liliana Dulanská – violin, Lukáš Mareček – cello, Zuzana Ballánová – vocals, Jan Schulmeister – piano, Roman Červinka – violin, Vojtěch Červenka, Jan Mára and Anton Aslamas – piano collaboration.

The concert was followed by the presentation of certificates, commemorative medals and a small gift to all graduates. The main award with a financial reward was awarded to the three best students of the academy. The Zlín Region Award for Extraordinary Talent was received by Monika Woźniak (harpsichord major) from the hands of the Councilor for Culture Miroslav Kašný , the Academy of Classical Music Award was presented by its representative Jan Simon to Roman Červink (violin major), and the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy Award was received by the executive director Jana Kubáčová to cellist Adam Klánský. All award recipients will become laureates of the Summer Music Academy and will perform at the Kroměříž Music Festival in 2021.

Special awards were also given to students who impressed the lecturers with their extraordinary talent. These awards were received by Iveta Cibulová (cello), Jan Schulmeister (piano), and Bella Adamová (vocals).

"I am very happy that we managed to not only organize the academy in this year's difficult situation, but even expand the teaching to include other musical instruments such as viola and cello, along with chamber music," says Tomáš Netopil, evaluating this year's edition.

The 3rd year of the Summer Music Academy provided opportunities to develop in their musical fields for 57 active and 19 passive participants, who followed classes led by leaders in their fields, such as cellist Michaela Fukačová, pianist Ivo Kahánek, violinist Jiří Vodička, soprano Kateřina Kněžíková, harpsichordist Barbara Maria Willi, and others.

"In addition to teaching, students had the opportunity to participate in workshops and seminars on professional development, media training, and working with stage fright," adds the academy's executive director, Jana Kubáčová.

The academy also brought attractive musical experiences to the general public. Concerts and discussions offered meetings with both musical personalities and young participants of the summer academy.

It offers young musical talents the opportunity to expand their knowledge and experience under the guidance of top lecturers. However, the public will also get their money's worth, for which an accompanying program of concerts and discussions has been prepared as part of the Kroměříž Music Festival. The academy will last until August 19.

In a few days, the Summer Music Academy founded by conductor Tomáš Netopil will begin in the premises of the ZUŠ and the PJ Vejvanovský Conservatory in Kroměříž. This year's lecturers will be Ivo Kahánek, Michaela Fukačová, Kateřina Kněžíková, Pavel Nikl, Barbara Maria Willi and others. Over the course of six days, they will share their experience and enthusiasm for music with young talents, whom they have chosen themselves from a large number of interested parties. This year, 60 musicians, mainly from the Czech Republic, will become their students, which is the most since the project began.

"There was an extraordinary interest in teaching from students this year, and in some fields, such as singing, we had to reject many of them," said Jana Kubáčová, executive director of the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy, adding that unsuccessful applicants can participate at least passively together with other interested parties, who can at least follow their musical role models in teaching students.

The academy is a unique close collaboration between lecturers and their students, with an individual approach being particularly valued. Not only music will be taught here, but also self-presentation, working with stage fright, and taking care of the musician's health.

"The academy's program is, however, also open to the public. It is expected to host a number of exceptional concerts and meetings with unique personalities as part of the Hudební Kroměříž festival," said conductor Tomáš Netopil, founder and artistic director of the academy. LHAK lecturers and students will also perform at the concerts. A new feature this year are benefit concerts.

Another benefit orchestral concert, the LHAK Gala Concert, will be hosted by the Květná zahrady greenhouse on August 16. Under the baton of Tomáš Netopil, the sopranos Kateřina Kněžíková and Tereza Maličkayová, Matteo Hager (violin), Ferdinand Pavel Slezák (violin) will perform together with the Bohuslav Martinů Zlín Philharmonic, and Cyril Höschl will accompany the performance.

"We are pleased that this year we have managed to supplement the traditional musical disciplines with the piano discipline, under the baton of the extraordinary pianist Ivo Kahánek, cello with the famous artist Michaela Fukačová, and also chamber music and viola with the founding member of the Pavel Haas Qartet - Pavel Nikl," added Tomáš Netopil, specifying that the French horn discipline will take place in cooperation with Horn Fest Prague and its lecturers will be Radek Baborák, Kateřina Javůrková and Petr Hernych.
This year, students will be provided with full-fledged teaching with lecturers, as well as other activities leading to further personal development, such as work with stage fright and media training. The best participants of the academy will be awarded the Academy of Classical Music Award, the Zlín Region Award and the LHAK Award. "In addition, this year we have decided to provide support to selected students in the form of a partial scholarship for tuition and accommodation," added the academy's executive director, Jana Kubáčová.
During the academy, two benefit concerts will also take place, featuring selected students, last year's laureates, and conductor Tomáš Netopil, as well as the academy's lecturers. The proceeds will be donated to support the arts and social services for those who have been significantly affected by the situation in recent months.
The Orchestral Academy in cooperation with the Academy of Classical Music will take place in a modified form and its concert will be held on September 13, 2020 in the Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum under the banner of the Dvořák Prague Young Philharmonic - Orchestral Academy Kroměříž.

This year, over 80 participants from eight countries around the world participated in the successful project of conductor Tomáš Netopil under the guidance of renowned musicians. The Academy also offered a series of classical music concerts and discussions for the general public.

During the final evening, under the baton of artistic director and Kroměříž native Tomáš Netopil, exceptionally talented graduates of the academy presented themselves, accompanied by the Moravian Chamber Soloists orchestra.

The gala concert was opened by the composition Baletti in g by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber from the Kroměříž Music Archive. "A short section of this piece will become the theme song for the 3rd year of our academy," suggests the dramaturg and artistic director of the academy, Tomáš Netopil.

Three new awards with financial rewards were also awarded to selected students. The Zlín Region Award was received by sixteen-year-old violinist Matteo Hager from the hands of the Councilor for Culture Miroslav Kašný. The LHAK & City of Kroměříž Award was received by the Slovak violinist Ferdinand Pavel Slezák from the mayor Jaroslav Němec. The Academy of Classical Music Award was presented by its representative Jan Simon to the singer Terezá Maličkayová.

"I am very surprised by the level of students who applied this year, and that there were so many of them and they were all so great. I am happy that not only do I perceive the beauty of the city of Kroměříž, but that they also resonated with the environment and conditions it offers," says Tomáš Netopil of this year's edition, who also indicated what next year will look like: "We are planning significant changes that should contribute to the expansion of the project. Among other things, we want to include, for example, an orchestral program." The upcoming edition will take place from August 10 to 22, 2020 and will also bring interested parties the opportunity to participate in teaching other new fields such as viola and cello, along with chamber music.

The 2nd year of the Summer Music Academy provided opportunities to develop in their musical fields for 53 active and more than 30 passive participants, who followed classes led by top performers in their fields, such as horn player Radek Baborák, violinists Josef Špaček and Dalibor Karvay, soprano Kateřina Kněžíková, harpsichordist Barbara Maria Willi, and others.

"I expected to gain new knowledge here and it would show me how to work in this field at a high level. I also expected to make new friends in my field here. Both came true," says Anton Aslamas, one of the academy's graduates who took part in the accompanist course led by Zdeněk Klaudy.
"In addition to teaching, students had the opportunity to participate in workshops and seminars on professional development, self-presentation, and working with stage fright," adds the academy's executive director, Jana Kubáčová.

The Academy also brought a whole range of attractive musical experiences to the general public. Concerts and discussions offered them the opportunity to meet both musical personalities and young participants of the summer academy.

Important partners of the Summer Music Academy in Kroměříž were the Academy of Classical Music, the City of Kroměříž, and the Zlín Region.

However, the public will also get their money's worth, for which an accompanying program in the form of concerts and discussions has been prepared. The academy will last until August 24.

Top Czech musicians are heading to Kroměříž. In just a few days, the Summer Music Academy founded by conductor Tomáš Netopil will begin here. This year's lecturers will be Radek Baborák, Josef Špaček, Dalibor Karvay, Kateřina Kněžíková, Barbara Maria Willi and others. They will share their experience and enthusiasm for music with young talents throughout the week, whom they have chosen from a large number of interested parties. Their students will include musicians not only from the Czech Republic, but also from Japan, Bulgaria, Portugal, Poland, Austria and other countries.

The academy is a unique close collaboration between lecturers and their students, with an individual approach being particularly valued. Not only music will be taught here, but also self-presentation, working with stage fright, and taking care of the musician's health.

"The academy's program is, however, also open to the public. It is expected to host a number of exceptional concerts and meetings with unique personalities," said conductor Tomáš Netopil, founder and artistic director of the academy. LHAK lecturers and students will also perform at the concerts.

The places for students at the Kroměříž Summer Music Academy are full. From a large number of interested parties, applicants were selected not only from the Czech Republic, but also from Japan, Bulgaria, Portugal, Poland, Austria and other countries. "The quality of the students is high," confirmed the artistic director of the LHAK, conductor Tomáš Netopil. "In addition to working with a lecturer, the academy's students can expect interactive programs or personal advice regarding their professional development and work with stage fright."

Renowned musicians and leaders in their fields will serve as lecturers, including Radek Baborák, Josef Špaček, Dalibor Karvay, Kateřina Kněžíková, and Barbara Maria Willi.

Despite the full capacity, the academy will accept other applicants who will have the opportunity to participate in the courses at least passively. "If any of the young talents, but also teachers or musicians, want to participate in this way, we will allow them to observe our lessons. Just being present at the lessons and having contact with leading Czech artists will certainly provide them with interesting ideas for further work and development," explained Tomáš Netopil, adding that the capacity of these places is also understandably limited.

The public of Kroměříž will not be deprived of unique musical experiences either, as they can take advantage of the rich accompanying program. Concerts and discussions will offer them meetings with both musical personalities and young participants of the summer academy.

This year's new feature is the awarding of three awards to selected students at the end of the LHAK. The LHAK & City of Kroměříž Award, the Academy of Classical Music Award, and the Zlín Region Award are also accompanied by a financial reward.

It is a great opportunity for young students to meet such renowned artists and by working with them they can significantly improve their artistic growth.
